Al-Tabari interpret of the Quran that refers to clear and unclear verses Free Essay Example, 1250 words
The surmise of his interpretation is as follows: In the context of the passage, â€Å"It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book†, ‘He’ is a reference to Allah or God, the creator from whom nothing is hidden or ambiguous. It means Allah has sent the book i. e. the Qur’an. This passage of ayah further elaborates, â€Å"in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the mother of the Book - and others unspecific†(Publications ). It mean that the ayahs are found within this same book and they are either clearly precise (muhkam) or otherwise unclear and unspecific (mutashabih). Understanding Clear Verses (Muh’kamaat) According to Al-Tabari, the word ‘clear’ here has been attributed a number of interpretations. One such being, the obvious clarification of instructions mentioned in the ayahs for categories of the permitted and the forbidden, the reward and the punishment, the promise and the threat, deeds commanded and those prohibited, the sermons and admonitions, the details and the examples and other matters addressed to the ummah by the agency of the Prophet (SAW). As per this particular verse, Allah referred to these muhkam ayahs as â€Å"the mother of the Book†(Publications ). We will write a custom essay sample on Al-Tabari interpret of the Qur'an that refers to clear and unclear verses or any topic specifically for you Only $17.96 $11.86/pageorder now It means such verses are the foundation or the source of the book and they contain all the significant laws and duties that this religion calls for including the penalties and the responsibilities bequeathed to the followers in this world and the hereafter. It is known per Arab tradition that the olden people used to refer to a majority of a portion as â€Å"mother†. The person holding the bulk of the responsibility in a circle was called ‘mother’, so was the banner that gathered groups of people to flock to them during a battle. Therefore they may have been labeled as such because these ayahs comprise a large portion of the Qur’an or that just like a mother, certain ayahs of this book are a refuge for all the souls that need its guidance in dire circumstances. The term â€Å"Mother of the Book†is used in singular instead of a plural even though the ayahs it encompasses, in essence, are multiple. The ayahs are refe rred to as ‘they’ however, because all the clear verses are intended inclusion yet each verse among them is not a mother of the book. If that were the case then all verses would have been recognized as the mothers of the book by making it plural. A set of ayahs addressed in the singular sense, is an aspect of the Qur’an that employs this style of narration as a grammatical complement for ‘they’.

Three Major Concerns of a Driver Free Essays
Three Major Concerns of a Driver When driving, there are many concerns drivers should be aware of. These concerns make driving safer for anyone on the road. The three major concerns I am going to talk about today are road conditions, following distance, and speed. We will write a custom essay sample on Three Major Concerns of a Driver or any similar topic only for you Order Now These are only a few of the many concerns a driver should have when driving. Driving is not safe therfore you must take it as serious as possible. If a driver ignores these concerns there will be consequences whether it is by the law or a fatal collision. The first concern drivers should have while driving is for the conditon of the road. Road conditions change on a daily basis due to the weather and the time of day. A good driver knows that if it is raining or snowing outside the roads will be slick. Therfore they should drive not only slower but also more cautious. Another factor that effects the condition of the road is the kind of road. Rural roads tend to be more narrow and less maintained so you shoud look out for pot holes. Each kind of road should be treated differently because they all have different dangers. My second concern is it is important for a driver to have a safe distance between you and the next car, this is known as your following distance. This is a very important concern to have. I was effected by this about three months ago when i reared ended another driver due to not having anough distance between me and the next car. Surprisingly I am thankful for the accident because I am now a very safe and cautious driver. Your fallowing distance at twenty-five mph should be two to three car lengths between you and the car in front of you. Your following distance should increase one car length for every ten mph. A driver who fails to follow these facts will sooner or later end up in rear end accident just like I did, but the results could be much much worse. The last major concern a driver should have that I am going to talk about is speed. Speed is defined as the rate of change. When talking about automobiles speed is a very seriouse topic. As you increase your speed in any vehicle you have to be aware of the increase in change of things around you and need to be able to react faster to these changes. When speed is abused nothing good can come from it. Many accidents occur because of an individual who was speeding and or loses contoll due to speeding. In conclusion, drivers need to be constanty concerned of their surroundings. Speed road conditions and following distance are only three of the many concerns a driver should have. Driving is not a game or a right it is a very seriouse priviledg. Many people think if you wear your saftey belt and dont speed you’ll be ok. The fact of the matter is that driving is NOT safe! Certain cars make driving safe but there are always unavoidable dangers while driving. If you are constantly awar of these dangers then you will be a much safer driver and have a lesser chance of being one of the unluckey people who get into any kind of accident. Alice Munros Boys and Girls Essay Example For Students
Alice Munros Boys and Girls Essay Alice Munros Boys and GirlsAlice Munros short story, Boys and Girls, has a very interestingdetail written into it. The narrators brother is named Laird, which wascarefully chosen by the author. Laird is a synonym for lord, which plays aimportant role in a story where a young girl has societys unwritten rulesforced upon her. At the time of the story, society did not consider men andwomen equal. The name symbolized how the male child was superior in theparents eyes and in general.Along with that, the name also symbolizes thedifference between the sexes when this story took place. We will write a custom essay on Alice Munros Boys and Girls specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now The time when this story took place was a time when men and women werenot equal. Mothers had traditional roles, which usually left them in the house, while men also had their roles, outside of the house. The male was the dominantfigure in the house, while the woman had to be subservient. It was an off thing to see my mother down at the barn. She did notoften come out of the house unless it was to do something hang out the wash ordig potatoes in the garden. She looked out of place, with her bare lumpy legs, not touched by the sun, her apron still on and damp across the stomach from thesupper dishes.1The narrator had problems coming to terms with the role in life that shewas expected to lead. She wanted to work outside with her father doing the workthat she deemed important. The mother tried to get the narrator to work insidedoing work deemed appropriate for a lady, however it was not something sheenjoyed. I hated the hot dark kitchen in the summer (p. 530).The narratorwas not considered of any consequential help to her father, simply because shewas female. Could of fooled me, said the salesman. I thought it was only a girl(p. 529). Even though the narrator could do more work than her younger brother, she was still under appreciated.Wait till Laird gets a little bigger, thenyoull have a real help (p. 530).Laird, on the other hand, was able to goout and do the things that he enjoyed. When Flora, the familys horse, runsaway Laird is invited to join the father and his assistant to re-capture thehorse, while the narrator must stay at home. When the narrator is reminiscing of the past, she recalls a time whenshe lured Laird up to the top of the barn. The whole purpose of this idea wasto get Laird in trouble. However, when her parents come and remove Laird fromdanger, they are actually mad at her, instead of Laird. This shows how theparents were more concerned with their son and that he could do no wrong. Thisreflects societys notion at the time, how men were always right. My father came, my mother came, my father went up the ladder talkingvery quietly and brought Laird down under his arm, at which my mother leanedagainst the ladder and began to cry. They said to me, Why werent you watchinghim? (p. 534)The grandmother is the best example of how women were thought of at thetime. She is from a time when there were even stricter rules of conduct forgirls. The narrators parents are more lackadaisical than the grandmother and alot less out-spoken. She voices what was taught to her when she was a child. At the time of the story, girls were expected to be dainty and quaint, while aman was expected to be the rough and tumble one. .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d , .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d .postImageUrl , .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d , .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d:hover , .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d:visited , .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d:active { border:0!important; } .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d:active , .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ud202743cd1e435cf77be7763e728e12d:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: An Unexpected Gift EssayGirls dont slam doors like that. Girls keep their knees together when theysit down. And worse still, when I asked some questions, Thats none of girlsbusiness. I continued to slam the doors and sit as awkwardly as possible, thinking that by such measures I kept myself free. (p. 532)The narrator, however, did not keep her self free. Eventually, she began tochange and to become a stereotypical female. She began to conform to societysideas about women. Near the end of the story, Laird starts to realize his sex-determinedsuperiority. He explains to his father and mother how Flora escaped from theyard and also starts listening to his father almost exclusively. We shot old Flora, he said, and cut her up in fifty pieces. Well I dontwant to hear about it, my mother said. And dont come to my table like that.My father made him go and wash the blood off. (p. 536)Laird washes the blood off only after his father tells him to do so. This showsthe dominance of males in the society of the time. Laird may field his motherscomplains, but only does something about it once his father tells him to do so. This shows how his father is the authority figure, that his mother secondary tohis father. Even the daughter thinks lowly of the mother in comparison to thefather. It showed how little my mother knew about the way things really were(p. 531). Boys and Girls takes place at a time where there is no such thing asequality between the sexes. Men in this society are the dominant, authoritarianheads of the house-hold whose work is done outside the home. Women are expectedto look after the men and their work is done in the home. The narrator in Boysand Girls slowly becomes accustom with her role in society. The narrator andher brother symbolize the roles of males and females in that society. Thenarrator is forced into doing jobs that she doesnt enjoy doing, namely thatassociated with womens work at the time. Laird is allowed to do what hepleases. Laird is the lord, as a male he is deemed as the more important of thetwo, simply because of his sex, while the narrator cast into her womanly role, being of secondary importance. Dinosaurs Essays - Evolutionary Biology, Climate History, Dinosaurs
Dinosaurs Dinosaurs: How they became extinct Something happened 65 million years ago, at the end of the Cretaceous period, something so devastating that it altered the course of life on earth. It seems like it happened so sudden, as geologic time goes, that almost all the dinosaurs living on earth disappeared. So how did these dominant creatures just die off? Was it a slow extinction, or did it happen all of the sudden? These questions bring rise to many different beliefs on how the dinosaur disappeared over 65 million years ago. Extinction itself is easily defined: When the birth rate fails to keep up with the death rate, it is called extinction. But, the definition does not answer the question about the nature or causes of extinction. Paleontologists generally divide extinctions into two types, for that of different causes arose. The first is called background extinctions, isolated extinctions of species due to a variety of causes. Included is out competition, depletion of

TKAM essays
TKAM essays Japan was a smart, expanding and a large country. These points though helped in the loss of the war. Japan lost World War 2 through different aspects from before the war and during the war. The errors made played vital rolls in the war and as the errors tallied up the war headed USAs way. Before the war, Japan had already made wrong assumptions. The first wrong assumption made by the Japanese was that Germany would win the war in Europe so that the US and Britain could not turn their entire strength against Japan which would mean Japan had a stronger force and could chose whether to invade or not invade US and Britain. Secondly, US lacked fighting spirit and they thought that the bombing of Pearl Harbor would leave US demoralized and ask for compromised peace. This did not lose their fighting spirit but made them even more encouraged to win, Yesterday, December 7, 1941- date which will live in infamy said by President Roosevelt. Lastly Japan thought that the bombing of Pearl Harbor would cause the US to have barely any ships and therefore would take a long time to rebuild. Japan failed to sink 3 aircraft carriers at sea and these carriers was used to good effect at the battle of Midway. Much of the shipping destroyed in Pearl Harbor was inferior and obsolete. They had underestimated USs industrial power which led therefore to war. During the war Japan had many wrong doings. Firstly the Army and navy caused Japans war effort to weaken. Little Coordination was given in military strength and operations and the navy and army wanted to do different things such as attack and defend. In battles either one of the forces did not support each other. Japans military leaders were reluctant to revise their war strategy to deal with new allied tactical methods. They relied too much on the fighting spirit of the Japanese forces and didnt look great enough into tactics. The effects of relying on the fi...

NIGER MILITARY COUP Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
NIGER MILITARY COUP - Essay Example This paper will critically discuss military coups as way of seizing power, using the Niger’s case as an example. Niger Military Coup Military coups as earlier stated, have been considered especially in most of the African countries among them Niger, as the only way of getting corrupt leaders in the government to vacate their offices once diplomacy has failed (Onwumechili 17). This is due to the fact that these leaders in most cases interfere with their constitutions, with some using their powers to amend certain acts in order to prolong their terms. Some of them even refuse to vacate their offices after they are defeated in presidential elections, for example with the case of Ivory Coast. The president, despite having lost the election to his opponent Outtara, has continued to cling to power instead of handing over the presidency peacefully. As for now, diplomatic talks mediated by eminent persons are going on and there is a possibility of military action against him if the ta lks fail to produce viable results (Harwood 59). This is an example of how tensions start building up and when they accumulate, military action becomes unavoidable especially where such leaders have been described as the major cause of suffering for the citizens and an obstacle to development. In Niger for example, the former president, Mamadou Tandja had been in power for 10 years, which is the maximum period that a president is allowed to rule in the country, after which he is required to retire. However, towards the end of his second term, he brought about a constitutional reform, which was meant to give him the leeway to run for another term, and which did not go down well with majority of the citizens and legislators. He planned a national referendum to extend his term but according to sources, the opposition boycotted this process whereas the national assembly refused to grant his wishes. In return, Tandja dissolved the parliament as well as the constitutional court for ruling against his intentions. Interestingly, he went ahead to conduct the referendum in which the opposition did not participate and declared the results in favor of his bid for a third term (Africa Research Bulletin 205). This is a sign of a leader who was bent to interfere with all organs of government regardless of the principle of separation of powers between the executive, legislature and the judiciary, which are supposed to function independently without one influencing the other. In this aspect, the president can be termed as an authoritarian, who, with the current growth of democracies around the world, should not be allowed to hold executive powers. The action prompted the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to sanction the country by excluding it from the organization’s trading activities (Africa Research Bulletin 207). Such an action against a country means that the level of foreign income earned from exports to member countries goes down hence the rise o f poverty levels among citizens. In addition, despite the country being rich in minerals such as Uranium, citizens have continued to suffer abject poverty while his council of ministers and close family members and friends continued to enrich themselves with tax payer’s money. As a result of such corruption and nepotism through out his rule, Niger’s economy has continued to deteriorate and the effect is that

How people with such different background can make friends with each Essay - 1
How people with such different background can make friends with each other - Essay Example Understandably, when one visits a new place, they are more likely to make a direct connection with those they share culture or background with since many friendships sprout on common grounds. Take my case for instance; when I first arrived in America, I was nervous and apprehensive about just about everything. I kept constantly reminding myself that I was a foreigner, and somehow this must have influenced my perception of how my fellow students, especially the Americans, saw me. As a result, it was easier to make friends with Chinese people – either the Chinese Americans or the Chinese people living in America. This was because around them, I did not feel very self-conscious, and I blended in much more easily; however, as I came to learn that with the benefit of research and personal experiences it can also be easy to make friends and interact with people from different cultures. Such interactions can be very rewarding and enlightening since one can learn a lot about different cultures; besides, with all our differences, every human being can find some similarly between themselves and anybody else as long as each of them shows interest in knowing the other. Interacting with new people in a new country by itself is a common experience; this is because each of you is in one way new to your present environment. After I moved into my house, I rarely spent much of my free time there, and every other weekend or when I had free time, I would go out visiting my Chinese friends or their families. In fact, in my first few days, I hardly spoke more than a few words to any of my flat mates, who were not Chinese, and there were a precious few of these. In a way, in my mind, I was still in China since I was actively avoiding any non-Chinese culture in what my American friend Chris later told me was a search for stability. However, one Sunday afternoon I was in my room browsing, and my computer crashed; I wondered what the

Vaccinations Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
Vaccinations - Research Paper Example Also, disease-causing bacteria and viruses usually occur in different forms referred to as different strains (Miller, 2008). In most cases, vaccines are designed to handle certain strains. For instance most flu shots available presently are designed to work against the common strains of flu virus which has been in existence for quite a while. Thus, such vaccine cannot prevent against new strains of flu. This explains why vaccines do not give a lifetime protection against diseases. As explained above, vaccines are usually designed to work against certain strains. Yet, every now and then, new strains emerge which are often stronger than the previous ones. This therefore renders the incumbent vaccination ineffective. Usually, vaccines do not guarantee full protection from a disease. Their strength fizzles out with time. Thus, one has to have another shot of vaccine so as to continue strengthening their immune system. Health care workers should be subjected to regular and extensive training so as to acquaint them with the new occurrences with regards to diseases. This enables them to keep abreast with the new strains that emerge. Such information is important as it enables the m to update their vaccines so as to stay effective. Equipped with knowledge about the new merging diseases, health workers get to know what to use and when to use so as to guarantee effectiveness in the fight against outbreaks. As stated, new strains of disease-causing bacteria and viruses develop from time to time. Regular training and updating of information regarding such strains is essential l as it enables the health workers to discard old vaccines that have been rendered obsolete, and develop new effective ones. This enhances effectiveness of vaccines and accelerates the fight against various

In todays highly competitive business environment, budget-oriented planning or forecast-based planning methods are insufficient for a large corporation to survive and prosper. The firm must engage in strategic planning that clearly defines objectives and assesses both the internal and external situation to formulate strategy, implement the strategy, evaluate the progress, and make adjustments where necessary to stay on track. They should also be measurable, so that companies can monitor their progress and make necessary corrections. YTL over the last 15 years already contributed directly to its success in achieving a compounded annual growth rate in Pre-tax profits of 55%. This can shown that the company also done in this part very well and is not every company can done it as well, it because need to put more heart on the company and fight the target only can get it well. Situation Analysis- Once the firm has specified its objectives, it begins with its current situation to devise a strategic plan to reach those objectives. Changes in the external environment often present new opportunities and new ways to reach the objectives. An environmental scan is performed to identify the available opportunities. The firm also must know its own capabilities and limitations in order to select the opportunities that it can pursue with a higher probability of success. The situation analysis therefore involves an analysis of both the external and internal environment. [ NetMBA, Business Knowledge Center ] A situation analysis can generate a large amount of information, much of which is not particularly relevant to strategy formulation. For effective implementation, it needs to be translated into more detailed policies that can be understood at the functional level of the organization. Organizing Organization is one of the management functions, such as planning. It is a function of the synchronization and human, material and financial resources, the combination occurred. All three resources are very important to get results. Therefore, the organization features help to achieve results that are actually important for the operation concerned. According to Chester Barnard, Organizing is a function by which the concern is able to define the role positions, the jobs related and the co- ordination between authority and responsibility. Therefore, managers always want to get organized results. Organizing function has four following steps. First is identification of activities. All activities must be conducted in a question for the first time that. For example, the preparation of the accounts, make sales, record keeping, quality control, inventory control, etc. All these activities are grouped and classified as a unit. Second is departmentally organizing the activities. In this step, managers are trying to bind to the departments and units or similar groups and related activities. This is divided into separate units and department to the entire organization is called departmentation. In the third steps is classifying the authority. Once the departments have made, Managers like the power and scope of the category managers. This gives a kind of management positions in the rank of the level of activity is called. Senior management to policy formulation, the lower the supervision and management of mid-level to the foremans supervision and management. Clarify a problem in the introduction of the power efficiency of the help. This helps in achieving the operating efficiency of a concern. This helps to avoid the time, money, energy waste, to avoid duplication or overlapping of efforts, which helped smooth the introduction of the work concerned. And the last step is co-ordination between authority and responsibility. Relations are based on different groups in order to achieve organizational goals toward smooth interaction. Everyone knows by his authority, he or she know they have to take orders and to whom they must report to them. A clear organizational structure is developed and all staff is made aware of this. When it comes to business leaders, the most important aspect is the management of the organization functions. In fact, the correct implementation of the organizational functions of management can make a business success or failure. Absence of sound system, involving the management of organizational functions, the companies can easily end up belly up and bleeding red. Unfortunately, many business owners do not spend enough time to consider the organizations management functions. In addition, when it comes to business planning and the like, little time is spent on an overview of the organization, taking into account management features. This is crucial, a business management training and well versed in the functions of various organizations. Historically, these types of concepts taught in colleges and universities. However, to a large degree, many universities have abandoned at least to some extent, the training organization like the focus. All of these are personnel management and organizational functions of management within the organization takes that fall on. Financial planning and budgetary considerations also belong to the organizations general management topics. Managers need the plug and the company employed by them during the budget out familiar. They need to understand the business of spending and budget priorities in order to fully understand how to allocate company resources to ensure the maximum profit at the end. Internet also does provide a number of organizations looking for more management functions, and how it is any enterprises overall business model of an important part of the useful information for anyone interested. Now we talks about the important of organisation. The people who organized organization are much better than the disorganized individuals. The same is true the organized sector or enterprise. Managers who can master this enjoyment of the organization function more smoothly in the management of the term of office location. Free Essay - Power of Guilt in Nathaniel Hawthornes The Scarlet Letter :: Scarlet Letter essays
Power of Guilt in The Scarlet Letter If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, did it make a sound? This saying brings me to my thesis of "Guilt Without Confession leads to Great Consequences in The Scarlet Letter". If a character does something wrong but no one knows, that character can both gain and lose from what they have done. This happens multiple times in The Scaret Letter. Characters commit evil deeds, some are caught, some are not. For those that aren't caught, they have a decision to make. To turn themselves in or to live their lives as if it never happened. For those that choose to live on as if it never happened they are faced with a tough road ahead. They have to deal with the guilt of what they've done. All the while, they must watch to see if anyone is on to them or suspects them of the crime they have commited. However they are rewarded. They get to live on as a regular member of society rather than be imprisoned or even worse, put to death. These are examples of characters who have commited crimes without confessing. Arthur Dimmesdale is a minister, a father, a sinner and a man who feels incredible guilt. He commits adultery with Hester before the book begins. As the book begins it is revealed he is the true father of Hester's child Pearl. Dimmesdale, afraid of losing his status and being humiliated , does not confess his crime. For this this he is rewarded and greatly punished. He is rewarded by keeping his status in the community. He continues to preach to his flock, for which he gains great acclaim. He is able to see Hester and Pearl whenever he wants. He is also free to leave anytime he wants. He has his freedom and his reputation. However, he also has something he doesn't want, his conscience. How unfortunate it is a person can get away from being caught for a crime. A crime that is punishable by death. Yet, he can't enjoy it. Most people would leave town, sorry for that they've done, but ecstatic they got away to start a new life. Not Dimmesdale, not Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale. He beats him self up over it. Usually thats an analogy, but not this time.
